Moments From Our December 2022 Wedding at Whitley Hall, Sheffield

A personal one from me today, as I'm sharing my own wedding at Whitley Hall in December! I'm so excited to share some photographs with everyone.

We got married at Whitley Hall in Sheffield, the venue I'd had my eye on way back when Jack proposed in 2016 (I even went up to visit it with my MOH way back then!). It's not too far from family, relatively relaxed and surrounded by gorgeous countryside. We always knew that we wanted a Christmas wedding and December is our favourite month!

We made sure to choose a photographer who suited the mood of the building and it's surroundings, and also someone who was good with low light (something that I highly recommend that all brides consider when choosing a photographer, especially if you're getting married in an older building! You need someone who is not only good with natural light, but someone who is great at indoor/low light photography just in case you find yourself inside a lot!)

As it was a winter wedding, we opted for a rich colour scheme of champagne, burgundy and hints of blush with lots of greenery. And I just love how it all tied together now that I get to look back at our photos.

Venue: Whitley Hall, Sheffield
Photographer: IG Time Photography
Robes: Lauren Olivia Studio
Dress: Stella York 6993 (taupe, although it has very blush undertones! dreamy! I won't recommend the dress shop I went to as the assistant was so unhelpful and I was overcharged by about £500)
Bridesmaid dresses: Ever-Pretty
Ring box: Mally's Crafts
Bouquets, buttonholes, flower girl wands: Silk Infinity Flowers on Etsy
Flower Girl dresses: Millie from Wed2b
Makeup: Jodie Gill makeup in Penistone (highly recommend Jodie! She made me feel like a princess, when I usually feel like a cave troll)
Decor: A mix of the Whitley Hall styling team, some DIY & Arch in a Box
Cake: Delicious Pink Cakery in Barnsley
Personalised cake topper, children's activity books, faux fur shawls, all hair accessories: Etsy, eBay, Amazon

Regardless of the little things that I'd most certainly change now that I have the gift of hindsight (some supplier oversights, a terrible DJ, a very insignificant handful of guest etiquette issues and the fact that I think I managed to sit down and have one drink all day! I'm certain that every bride wishes one or two things went differently after the big day!), the day itself was a beautiful celebration of the love that we share for one another and we have some absolutely incredible memories that we now share with our closest friends. Finally, after 13 years of our ups and downs, weathering storms and celebrating the good times, we did it! I still have to pinch myself when I remember that we're actually married!

And so, without further delay. Here are a few photographs of our December wedding!

Last minute prep! I'm wearing our lace robe in champagne. Unfortunately we didn't get many photographs whilst we were getting ready.
Our flower girl dresses from Wed2B, these were the 'Millie' dresses in blush. I came across these entirely accidentally when wedding dress shopping with a friend and they matched my own wedding dress perfectly!
My gorgeous bouquet from Silk Infinity Flowers on Etsy. I chose silk flowers as I wanted to keep my bouquet once the day was over with. I couldn't bare the thought of throwing lots of lovely fresh flowers away!
My little girl playing with my dress! It was super special to have her celebrate with us. She's SEN yet she coped with such a huge day so well!
Our gorgeous ring box from Mally's Crafts! I don't sleep in my rings (or wear them around the house!) so this has doubled up as a lovely box to keep my engagement and wedding rings in.
First look with my beautiful bridal party. These girls are everything.

Our first kiss as husband and wife! I was so relieved when the ceremony was over (I have never been as nervous as I was when I was making my way down the aisle in five inch heels and a super long train!)
